Basic Italian Herb Mix
- ½ Tbsp. dried parsley
- 1 Tbsp. dried basil
- 2 tsp. Dried oregano
- ½ Tbsp. dried Thyme
- 1 tsp. Granulated garlic
- ½ tsp. Black pepper
Deluxe Mix
- ½ Tbsp. dried parsley
- ½ tsp. Ground or dried sage
- 1 Tbsp. dried rosemary
- 1 Tbsp. dried basil
- 2 tsp. Dried oregano
- 1 Tbsp. dried marjoram
- ½ Tbsp. dried Thyme
- 1 tsp. Granulated garlic
- ½ tsp. Black pepper
Directions:
Combine all spices in a bowl and mix with a spoon. If you want it finer you can place this seasoning into a food processor and pulse a couple of times. Otherwise you can leave it as is.
Store in a glass container like a small mason jar or an old spice jar with a tight fitting lid.
Label and date the jar. This recipe can be doubled.
If you don’t like rosemary, leave it out. If you love basil add a little more.
As one of my favorite chefs always says “That’s just you cooking”!
Drying herbs:
Did you know you can dry fresh herbs in the microwave?!?! It’s true. Put clean and DRY (very important to be dry or you’ll end up steaming your herbs instead of drying them) in a single layer. It only takes 30 – 90 seconds depending on the herb.
